Face recognition technology is becoming ubiquitous these days. One application used in consumer electronics is the ability for the device to recognize its user and unlock itself.
This has already been implemented on many laptops, but mobile devices are now capable of this. The new Galaxy Nexus phone features a "Face Unlock" feature that allows the device to unlock itself when it sees the user's face. The technology is now fast and accurate enough to be on mainstream devices, and we can now use this technology to build many other useful applications.
