Heating food evenly in the microwave

The microwave oven is not very good at heating up food. It is very common that food does not get heated up evenly in the microwave, even if it comes with a rotating tray. Until someone invents a better oven, here are some ideas to try to help with this problem:

  1. Place the food closer to the edge of the rotating tray, so that the food gets moved around more.
  2. Microwave longer at less than full power.
  3. Microwave in intervals, and shifting positions each time.
  4. Add some water to the food. Microwave will only heat up the water in the food, so if the food is too dry, it doesn't work very well.
